  • The Park

    The Chyulu Hills are a beautiful rolling ridge of volcanic hills in the south of Kenya. On the eastern side of the range is the black Shaitani Lava flow, a ridge of lava rock formed when the Chyulus were formed. This lava flow is near the Chyulu gate of Tsavo West National Park. The hills consist of beautiful valleys and peaks with views in all directions, Mount Kilimanjaro can be visible. Rain on the hills gives rise to underground rivers. Wildlife encompasses giraffe, elephant, loin, monkeys, buffalo and crocodile in the springs at the bottom of the hills. The Climate is hot and dry.

    Campi ya Kanzi
    Campi ya Kanzi means "Camp of the Hidden Treasure" in Kiswahili. The camp is a community project with the local Maasai on their Group Ranch of 400-square-miles. The local community owns of the camp and is respecting the principles of ecotourism.
