The Lake Naivasha Country Club is situated on the southern shores of Lake Naivasha and was once the gateway to Kenya when the British Overseas Airways flying boats used to land there following the Nile south. The public areas are in a single storey building with a long, shady verandah along the front. The lounge is cosy and comfortable with a magnificent fireplace and the dining room light and airy at one end of the spacious verandah. Lunch most days is al fresco, beneath the shade of magnificent acacia and pepper trees and drinks in the evening before dinner are beside a roaring log fire in the resident's lounge. The bar is colourful and welcoming. The 51 rooms are in one-storey wings and cottages spread through the magnificent and colourful gardens.

The yellow barked fever tree - an acacia - grows in profusion here and along the lake shore. Boats are available for trips onto the lake either to bird watch or spot hippo or for a sundowner cruise in the late afternoon and also to provide a ferry service to nearby Crescent Island where you can walk around the island and its resident population of wildlife. There is also a swimming pool in the hotel grounds.
