Ol Kanjau is a traditional safari style tented camp situated just outside Amboseli National Park and is kept as simple as possible so that you can still listen to the quiet, smell air clean enough to eat and try to count a million stars. Ol Kanjau is sited at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, adjacent to Amboseli National Park and is surrounded by a larger area of true African bushland wilderness owned by Kisongo Masai pastoralists who benefit directly when one visits this unrivalled wild open space.

Six twin spacious and luxurious tents, with large comfortable beds, safari style bathroom, with bucket showers with hot water and gas lanterns to light your tent at night.

Y o u r hosts are Mike & Judy Rainy who have worked as ecologists in Kenya since 1968, and they are still active in large-scale ecosystem research to see how Amboseli wildlife interacts with Maasai people and their livestock. Amboseli is home to a growing population of elephant and the Rainys will introduce you to

several of the 52 known matriarchal elephant families. With just a few hours on foot with an excellent guide, reading the tracks is like reading a well-thumbed book, learning about animal secrets. Following wildlife in Amboseli is an extremely private experience.

The rates for our fly in safaris to Ol Kanjau you will find here.

If you would like to combine Ol Kanjau with other camps or lodges
in other Kenyan parks then please check our site Tailor-made Safaris.
