Salt Lick Safari Lodge is perfectly located in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and adjacent to the Tsavo National Park, one of the world's largest game reserves.
Most of the 96 guestrooms, as well as the restaurant and the terraced bar command spectacular views of the waterhole and surrounding grasslands, where elephant, buffalo and a variety of plains game can be seen throughout much of the year. Floodlights allow sightings of nocturnal wildlife. The 96 guestrooms are located in 12 original clusters on stilts with only 4 rooms on each of the 2 floors. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and have private bathrooms with shower. All beds have mosquito nets and each room is equipped with an electric fan.
The restaurant features delicious international and local cuisine, usually in the form of sumptuous buffets, but also as table d'hôte when appropriate - these include vegetarian dishes. They also cater to any special dietary needs if advance notice is given. The terraced lounge & bar are centrally located in the main building and invite the guests to relax.
